General records, including correspondence, finances, stock records, legal papers, and the records of several related companies, most notably the Westcott Hosiery Mills of Dalton, Ga. Legal documents include land deeds, abstracts, and patent and trademark applications. Personnel and employment records include the 1934 strike and hearings before the National Labor Board. Executive correspondence, mainly of Gustav A. Efroymson and Jacob L. Mueller, includes information on sales and distribution, advertising, and machinery. Also included are records of military output during World War II. Photographs have been transferred to Visual Collections and blueprints to Architectural Archives.

The Real Silk Company was founded in 1922 in Indianapolis by brothers J.A. and L.L. Goodman. The company manufactured hosiery, lingerie, and underwear; and bomb parachutes and military hosiery during World War II. It also had plants in Linton, Ind., Georgia, and Mississippi.
